Medical Staff at the Iowa Veterans Home

The Iowa Veterans Home Medical Staff consists of Full Time Physicians and Mid-Level Providers most often referred to as Primary Care Providers (PCP’s) who are responsible for the healthcare needs of our residents.  They provide 24/7 call coverage including nights, weekends and holidays.  The on call PCP is available for emergent needs for our residents.  PCP’s are assigned a resident caseload and hold weekly clinics on each of our Nursing Units and Residential Unit.

Part of our Medical Staff team includes Mental Health Services.  This department provides psychiatry and psychology services.  They provide coverage 8:00 am to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The Mental Health Providers schedule weekly clinics on various Units and are available to see residents for routine or acute needs Monday through Friday.

The Iowa Veterans Home Medical Services Department provides specialty care services to our veterans.  These Physicians conduct clinics for Dental, Dermatology, Optometry, Orthopaedic, and Podiatry services throughout the month.
